Who we are

This website is operated by Rod Jones Consulting (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2018/260657/07), the responsible party for the personal information described here. What we collect, and why

• Contact form. Your name, email address, and optionally your company, phone number and message, so that we can reply to your enquiry.
• eBook downloads and Actionable Insights. When you sign up to download an eBook, we collect your name, email address, company and position. We use these to give you the eBook and, with your consent, to send you Actionable Insights, Rod’s newsletter with industry news, new eBooks, events and career opportunities.
• Website analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies to tell us how visitors use the site, such as which pages are popular and how people find us. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you.

We only collect what we need for these purposes, and we never sell or rent your personal information.

Your choices about our newsletter

You can unsubscribe from Actionable Insights at any time, free of charge, using the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing rod@rodjones.co.za. Unsubscribing does not affect any eBook you have already downloaded.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run this website, who process your information on our behalf:

• Everlytic manages our eBook sign-up forms and mailing lists.
• Formspree delivers messages from our contact form to our inbox.
• Google Analytics provides website statistics.
• Our website hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.

Some of these providers store information outside South Africa, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on providers that are bound by data protection standards that offer protection similar to POPIA.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe, and enquiries for as long as needed to deal with them and meet our legal obligations.

How we protect it

This website is served securely over HTTPS, and access to our systems and mailing lists is limited to people who need it.

Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

• ask whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it;
• ask us to correct or delete your personal information;
• object to us processing your information, including for direct marketing; and
• lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

Cookies

Apart from Google Analytics, this website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time without affecting how the site works.
